Carter's 1st Birthday!

Carter's new ride

Carter is 1! I can't believe that his first year is already over. Carter has changed so much this past year. No longer is he my little boy that I could hold for hours while he slept. If I tried to do that now I'm sure my arm would fall asleep after 20 minutes.

We celebrated for a whole weekend for Carter's big day. On his actual birthday Will had to work until 7pm that night so we had a birthday breakfast. We had Carter's favorite homemade blueberry pancakes. As you can see he loved them.

On Friday Carter had his 1 year check. He weighed 26.1 lbs and was 31 1/2 inches long. He is finally starting to slow down his growing.

Sunday we had a family birthday party. Both sets of grandparents came, also my brother Chris, his wife Jen and their daughter Riley. Will's sister Megan and her boyfriend Kyle were also there. Of course Carter got tons of presents. He was actually into opening the gifts and seeing what was inside. We enjoyed lots of Piezano's pizza and then the highlight of the night cupcake time. At first Carter was not sure about the prickly cupcake. Then after one taste of frosting, he dove in. He completely demolished the whole cupcake. Keeping sugar away from the kid really gave him a surprise on his birthday.

I tried to be creative with his cake. We call it the " Caterpillar cupcake".

First Time

At grammie and papa's house. Carter is checking out all of the cupboards.
Standing for the first time by himself.

The Dabbert's are finally entering the technology phase. We thought we would try to keep everyone up to date with what is happening at our house.

Tomorrow Carter turns 1! We can't believe our baby is growing up. He is starting to talk. Of course his first word was momma! Then came dadda, and hi. Carter has become quite the flirt. He waves, gives big kisses and likes to say hi to strangers. For the last few months he has been walking along the furniture. He has now moved to scaling the walls and cabinets and anything else he can get a hold of. We are working on getting some balance. He stands for about 5 seconds on his own untill he figures out what he is doing. I'm sure he will be walking and running soon.

Will is keeping very busy with his jobs. He is working 3 days a week at a private practice which he loves. 2 days a week he works at people public health clinic. It has been quite a learning experience for him at both jobs. We love it when he comes home and Carter gets a huge smile everytime daddy walks through the door.

I get to stay home with Carter, which keeps me busy. I love seeing him change everyday. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can get out of the house more. We finally joined a gym and I am slowly trying to get my pre baby body back. Carter has also started going to the daycare there which he is still not sure of. Take care and we will post again soon.
