WE MOVED!

It's been 2 weeks since we moved into our new house. We love all the space and living in a young neighborhood. We have already met 3 neighbors. We lived at our old house for 3 1/2 years and only new 2. Things are looking up.

Carter is able to move much easier around the house. He loves walking around the house with his walker. He is getting closer to walking on his own everyday.

We opened up the pool this weekend. Carter loved showing off his muscles and soaking up the sun.

The sun is shining

The weather has finally made a change for the better. Carter loves being outside so he has been very happy the last few days. Will and I both celebrated our birthdays in the last week. Nothing too exciting. We did get to spend a lot time with both of our families which was a lot of fun.

Carter has really been on the move. He has picked up the pace and is able to disappear quickly.

The count down is on till we move. 2 weeks from today we will be moving to our new house. We are very excited to have some more space.
Riley and Carter had a lot of fun last weekend.
We have been visiting the zoo. Carter is not sure about all of the animals.

Bad case of diaper rash, so Carter was "airing out" for a while.

I can do it by myself

Carter is making strides everyday. This last week he has started to crawl/scoot. He has also figured out how to stand up in his crib. The only problem is he can't get down. So once he stands up he giggles a little, talks to Leo (his security lion) and then starts yelling. Yes, he has found his voice. He doesn't cry or scream very often, but he likes to yell just to hear his own voice. He also likes to repeat "dada" over and over again. He loves being with daddy.

My 2 boys at the children's museum.

House news: We had our first open house this weekend and it went really well. We got an offer!!! Only 5 days on the market, which is very exciting. We made our counter today and hopefully everything will work out. We could be in a new house by the end of May.

On the move

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog, but we have been pretty busy. We have decided to put our house up for sale. We have already found a house and made an offer. If our house sells it is ours! It is not quite done being built, so we were able to pick our colors, lights and flooring which is very exciting. Now that we have put so much time and effort into the new house I hope ours will sell. Unfortunately there are a ton of houses for sale in Lincoln right now. Any extra prayers you can give would be great.

Carter is also on the move. In the last few weeks he has figured out how to scoot around the house as well as walk along the walls, furniture or anyone who is in the way. He also can get to a sit from a lay. This may not seem like a big deal, but for him it is HUGE. He was supposed to be able to do this around 9 months. He is very proud of himself. He loves exploring around the house. Everytime I turn around he is in a new location.

I can sit by myself!!Here is a random picture. One day I came around the corner and found him sitting on the pot. I am asumming that he fell and happened to land on it.

Every Parents Dream

This morning Carter set a new record. He slept till 8:00!! Usually he is up at 6:30 on the dot. This was the best gift he could have ever given us.
It could be his new big boy jammies. He was very proud to get out of the footie jammies. Here he is modeling his new sleepwear.

A Taste of Spring

Today was a beautiful day in Lincoln, almost 70 degrees. Carter and I played outside for the first time this year. It was like the first time he had been outside. He notices much more this year. And of course he had to taste everything as well.

He also gave out some hugs, to the tree!

And he tried to climb the tree, which he didn't really enjoy.

And of course we had a lot of fun too.

My little boy is growing up. He is standing for almost a minute. Walking around everwhere(holding on to something) and even throwing a few fits. Carter's new favorite food is Lima beans and don't know where that one came from.

Dentist in Training

Our future dentist practices brushing his teeth before bed. Carter is teething once again and loves to brush on his sore gums. Tonight we went out to eat for Greek food. And surprise, surprise Carter loved the spiced meat. He was so excited that he was bouncing in his high chair. He let out a few screeches of enjoyment then decided to wave goodbye to anyone who was leaving the restaurant. Our little social butterfly is starting to loosen up and let it all out.

Carter's 1st Birthday!

Carter's new ride

Carter is 1! I can't believe that his first year is already over. Carter has changed so much this past year. No longer is he my little boy that I could hold for hours while he slept. If I tried to do that now I'm sure my arm would fall asleep after 20 minutes.

We celebrated for a whole weekend for Carter's big day. On his actual birthday Will had to work until 7pm that night so we had a birthday breakfast. We had Carter's favorite homemade blueberry pancakes. As you can see he loved them.

On Friday Carter had his 1 year check. He weighed 26.1 lbs and was 31 1/2 inches long. He is finally starting to slow down his growing.

Sunday we had a family birthday party. Both sets of grandparents came, also my brother Chris, his wife Jen and their daughter Riley. Will's sister Megan and her boyfriend Kyle were also there. Of course Carter got tons of presents. He was actually into opening the gifts and seeing what was inside. We enjoyed lots of Piezano's pizza and then the highlight of the night cupcake time. At first Carter was not sure about the prickly cupcake. Then after one taste of frosting, he dove in. He completely demolished the whole cupcake. Keeping sugar away from the kid really gave him a surprise on his birthday.

I tried to be creative with his cake. We call it the " Caterpillar cupcake".

First Time

At grammie and papa's house. Carter is checking out all of the cupboards.
Standing for the first time by himself.

The Dabbert's are finally entering the technology phase. We thought we would try to keep everyone up to date with what is happening at our house.

Tomorrow Carter turns 1! We can't believe our baby is growing up. He is starting to talk. Of course his first word was momma! Then came dadda, and hi. Carter has become quite the flirt. He waves, gives big kisses and likes to say hi to strangers. For the last few months he has been walking along the furniture. He has now moved to scaling the walls and cabinets and anything else he can get a hold of. We are working on getting some balance. He stands for about 5 seconds on his own untill he figures out what he is doing. I'm sure he will be walking and running soon.

Will is keeping very busy with his jobs. He is working 3 days a week at a private practice which he loves. 2 days a week he works at people public health clinic. It has been quite a learning experience for him at both jobs. We love it when he comes home and Carter gets a huge smile everytime daddy walks through the door.

I get to stay home with Carter, which keeps me busy. I love seeing him change everyday. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can get out of the house more. We finally joined a gym and I am slowly trying to get my pre baby body back. Carter has also started going to the daycare there which he is still not sure of. Take care and we will post again soon.
